Cross Country Polls & Rankings
Even without competing since the last poll, Paradise Valley (Ariz.) CC is a clear No. 1 after sharing the top spot last week. The Pumas garnered 13 of the 15 first-place votes.
No. 2 Mesa (Ariz.) CC, which shared the last poll’s No. 1 spotlight with Paradise Valley, still earned one first-place vote. The defending team champions are led by freshman Olivia Baker, who finished an impressive fourth in the Dave Murray Invitational.
No. 3 Wallace State-Hanceville (Ala.) CC also collected a first-place vote. The Lions were the leading JUCO team at the Firehawk Invitational and last week’s Twilight at John Hunt, both featuring ranked NJCAA DII squads. Freshman Brookelyn Morgan continues to lead the way, including earning M-F Athletic National Athlete of the Week honors last week.
Muskegon (Mich.) CC remains No. 4. The Jayhawks won the Michigan CCAA Northern Conference Championships, led by the 2-3 finish of freshmen Tatum Dykstra and Valerie Pollock.
Reaching a program-high for the second-straight poll is No. 5 NorthWest Arkansas CC. The Eagles impressed pollsters after a 13th among four-year programs at the Missouri Southern Stampede as Cindy Soto held team honors for the second-straight meet.
Rounding out the top-10 are No. 6 Daytona State (Fla.), No. 7 Des Moines Area (Iowa) CC, No. 8 Southeastern (Iowa) CC, No. 9 Mott (Mich.) CC and No. 10 Calhoun (Ala.) CC.
