Cross Country Polls & Rankings

Salt Lake (Utah) CC collected all 10 first-place votes for the fourth poll this year. The Bruins won the team title at The Master’s (Calif.) Invitational with 35 points to beat the hosts, currently ranked No. 4 in the NAIA national rankings. Naomi Sotelo was Salt Lake’s top runner, finishing third individually, as their top-5 had a span of 37.9 seconds. A week later, SLCC ran an entirely different squad at the Steve T. Reeder Memorial in finishing behind No. 2 College of Southern Idaho by 12 points.

Southern Idaho moved back to No. 2. The Golden Eagles had a strong showing at the Charles Bowles Willamette Invitational a week ago, finishing second and even taking Potato State honors in beating College of Idaho, the defending NAIA champion. Rozzlyn Cazier earned M-F Athletic National Athlete of the Week honors to lead CSI with her 10th-place finish.

Iowa Central CC drops one rung to No. 3. The Tritons won the Indian Hills Invitational with 37 points as Maud Lambotte’s individual runner-up finish led three other teammates in the top-10.

Crowder (Mo.) continues at No. 4. The Roughriders ventured across state/region lines to win the Tiger Preview at Cowley (Kan.). Pelisha Kosgei was individual runner-up in leading Crowder for the second-straight meet.

No. 5 remains New Mexico JC. The T-Birds won the NMJC Invitational III last weekend as individual runner-up Amal Kachouri led all five of their scorers among the top-10.

Rounding out the top-10: No. 6 Hutchinson (Kan.) CC, No. 7 Butler City (Kan.) CC, No. 8 Central Arizona, No. 9 Iowa Western CC and No. 10 Odessa (Texas), the latter making its first-ever top-10 appearance since the poll began in 2017.

There’s just over three weeks until the 2024 NJCAA Division I Cross Country Championships will be held on Saturday, November 9, at Pole Green Park near Richmond, Virginia.
