2019 NJCAA DIII Outdoor Track & Field Rating Index – Week 4
NEW ORLEANS – Business is picking up with just three weeks remaining in the NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season.
By this time next month, we would have crowned a number of individual champions and the all-important team champions at the 2019 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Utica, New York. The meet is scheduled to take place May 9-11.
Let’s take a look at how both sets of the National Rating Index shifted between Week 3 and when the Week 4 edition was released Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
NOTE: Only two releases of the National TFRI remain – May 1 and May 7.

There weren’t any changes to the top-3 teams of the Men’s National Rating Index.
Harper (Ill.) is still No. 1, followed by No. 2 Triton (Ill.) and No. 3 Rowan-Gloucester (N.J.). It should be mentioned that last week was the first time that the Hawks were No. 1 in program history (They’ve been No. 1 a bunch of times in the NJCAA DIII Cross Country National Coaches Rankings), while the Trojans and Roadrunners each had their share on top of the outdoor chart in the past.
Suffolk County (N.Y.) swapped spots with Hudson Valley (N.Y.) as the former is now ranked No. 4 and the latter is ranked No. 5. The Sharks had a huge weekend as they turned in seven marks that are ranked in the top-3 nationally, including three alone by sophomore Jonathan Gonzalez (No. 1 in the 1500, No. 2 in the 5000 and No. 2 in the 800).
Here are the rest of the top-10 teams in order: No. 6 Kingsborough (N.Y.), No. 7 Herkimer County (N.Y.), No. 8 Sandhills (N.C.), No. 9 Onondaga (N.Y.) and No. 10 Finger Lakes (N.Y.).

The Women’s National Rating Index remained unscathed for the most part as seven of the top-10 teams held steady between Week 3 and Week 4.
Suffolk County (N.Y.) and Harper (Ill.) are No. 1 and No. 2 once again. This is the seventh time in program history that the Sharks have been ranked No. 1 and the ninth time in program history that the Hawks have been billed second.
Rowan-Gloucester (N.J.) leapfrogged Kingsborough (N.Y.) into third place. The Roadrunners added three top-3 marks to their ledger this past weekend as De’Ania Davenport-White is now ranked third nationally in the 100H, McKenna Dowd is ranked third nationally in the steeplechase and Emily Hilt is ranked third nationally in the discus.
Union County rounds out the top-5 at No. 5.
