Kiara Carter was named the National Women’s Track Athlete of the Year for the 2022 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season. Carter, a freshman from Chicago, Illinois, scored 25 points in track events at the NJCAA DIII Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Troy, New York. She swept the short sprints with titles in the 100 (12.40 PR) and 200 (25.88) and helped out on the Chaps’ title-winning 4×100 and 4×400 relay teams. Carter split 59.53 in the 4×400. During the regular season, Carter was ranked second nationally in the 100, 200 and 400.
