Mineral Area (Mo.) repeats as No. 1. The Cardinals traveled north and earned a close win over the hosts from NJCAA DII in the Heartland (Ill.) Invitational, 32-34. Mineral Area was the only program to place three in the top-10, led by Jailey Pigg, a previous M-F Athletic National Athlete of the Week.

No. 2 Jefferson (Mo.) tested itself against much-higher divisions with a strong 7th-place finish in the Chile Pepper Festival’s Prairie Fire Pepper race of 23 teams. Lauren Hartman and fellow top-10 nationals returner Reagan Edwards led the Vikings.

Two-time defending champion Harper (Ill.) rises to No. 3. The Hawks were an impressive in fifth in the Lansing Invitational, finishing behind only a pair of NJCAA DII top-10 ranked squads. Isabella Wojciechowski earned her second M-F Athletic National Athlete of the Week honors a week later as Harper ran only individuals in the Heartland Invitational.

DuPage (Ill.) falls one notch to No. 4. The Chaps continue to be led by returning Nationals third-place finisher Carmen Solis, last week’s M-F Athletic National Athlete of the Week.

Joliet (Ill.) JC continues at No. 5. The Wolves, led by freshman Gabby Zid, were just behind DuPage at the Midwest Classic and an impressive third at the Heartland Invitational.

Rounding out the top-10 are No. 6 Georgia Military, No. 7 Oxford (Ga.), No. 8 Kellogg (Mich.) CC, No. 9 RCSJ Gloucester (N.J.) and No. 10 Ocean County (N.J.).

The season culminates on Saturday, November 9, when the 2024 NJCAA Division III Cross Country Championships will be held at Pole Green Park near Richmond, Virginia.
