Five top-10 teams will measure their potential on Saturday at the Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, which is hosted by Lehigh University. The College Women’s White 6k is the most intriguing with No. 3 NYU, No. 5 SUNY Geneseo, No. 6 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and No. 7 Emory in the field, among other ranked squads. No. 8 Johns Hopkins will compete at the meet, but is entered in the College Women’s Gold 6k as the only NCAA DIII program in the field.
Numerous top-30 crews will race at the Pre-National Invitational on Friday night at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course. Only two of those teams raced at the John McNichols Invitational last month: No. 2 Chicago and No. 10 Washington (Mo.). No. 4 MIT, No. 17 DePauw, No. 19 George Fox, No. 21 Washington and Lee, No. 22 Connecticut College, and No. 29 UC-Santa Cruz will all have a fresh look of the course that will host the approaching NCAA DIII Cross Country Championships on November 23.
