NEW ORLEANS – The Women’s Scholar Team of the Year and All-Academic Teams for the 2022 NCAA Division III Cross Country season were announced on Thursday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Johns Hopkins was named the Women’s Scholar Team of the Year for the 2022 NCAA Division III Cross Country season. The Blue Jays, who maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.766, won the team title at the 2022 NCAA DIII Cross Country Championships in East Lansing, Michigan. This is the eighth time that Johns Hopkins has been named Women’s Scholar Team of the Year during the cross country season. The Blue Jays are now the program leader for most Scholar Team of the Year honors earned in a single sport in NCAA DIII award history.
Overall, there were 212 programs who were named All-Academic Athletes for their efforts during the 2021 season. No program posted a better cumulative GPA than Eastern Mennonite.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, among other qualifiers.
