LJ Kiner was named the National Men’s Field Athlete of the Year for the 2022 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field season. Kiner, who hails from Humble, Texas, finished top-3 at the NCAA DII Outdoor Track & Field Championships in both the triple jump (second) and long jump (third). His mark in the long jump at the NCAA meet was a PR of 7.72m (25-4), while he set a PR of 16.36m (53-8¼) to win the triple jump at the prestigious Mt. SAC Relays earlier in the season. He scored 15 points in the horizontal jumps at the MIAA Outdoor Championships, winning the triple jump and placing fourth in the long jump.
