Maletich, who hails from Chicago, Illinois, was named the National Women’s Field Athlete of the Year. It was at the 2021 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships where Malteich became just the fourth woman in meet history to sweep the horizontal jump crowns (Darcell Edwards of McMurry, Natalie Calderon of Redlands and Melissa Norville of Illinois College are the others). Maletich won the long jump in 5.88m (19-3½) and closed out the meet with a NCAA DIII season best in the triple jump of 12.38m (40-7½).
