Lincoln’s Men Moves to Top Spot; Two-Event Defending Champ Scott Not Returning This Season
NEW ORLEANS – In the first regular national indoor team computer rankings of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for NCAA Division II teams, the men of Lincoln (Mo.) are the new No. 1 team in the country thanks to a great start to the season and a change to Saint Augustine’s roster. The top five women’s team rankings remain unchanged from the January 11 preseason release.

Lincoln (Mo.), the defending NCAA indoor champion, is poised to have another great season as the has already fired off some of the year’s best marks. The Blue Tigers have Division II’s leading men in the 60 meters (senior Dwain Bryden), 400 meters (freshman Roxroy Cato), and 60-meter hurdles (sophomore Sabiel Anderson).
No. 2 Saint Augustine’s made a change to their roster shortly after the preseason-ranking release with notification that defending 200- and 400-meter champion Josh Scott will not be with the squad this season.
On the women’s side, No. 1 Grand Valley State remains in control by a wide margin thanks to a large number of distance qualifiers plus the nation’s best mile time delivered by junior Monica Kinney (4:43.64) last weekend. Ashland remains at No. 2 while Lincoln (Mo.) and Neb.-Omaha follow at Nos. 3 and 4, respectively.
UNO senior Nkeiruka Domike recorded the collegiate best mark among all divisions last weekend in the triple jump with a 43-5¼ (13.24m) performance.
