NAIA Rankings Home

That’s where, according to the most recent rankings released Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), 34 of the 40 teams in those spots shifted around from the previous week.

For starters, Indiana Tech still owns the top-ranked teams in both the men’s and women’s rankings. The Warrior men increased their lead over second-ranked Wiley (Texas) to 166.60 points, while the women own a smaller edge over second-ranked Concordia (Neb.) at 131.31 points.

Indiana Tech, Wiley (Texas) and Concordia (Neb.) are the only institutions with both teams in the top-5 — but Wayland Baptist (Texas) could soon join the trio. The Jackrabbit men are ranked fourth and the women surged 14 spots over the last week from No. 22 to No. 8.

In the men’s rankings, four teams moved up into the top-10 — Lindsey Wilson (Ky.), Doane (Neb.), Southern Oregon and Olivet Nazarene (Ill.).

Two other men’s teams that jumped quite a bit were Friends (Kan.) and Rio Grande (Ohio). The former went from 44th to 15th, while the latter climbed from 49th to 27th.

The biggest mover in the women’s rankings was that of Missouri Baptist. Last week the team was ranked 111th and improved 131.37 points over the past week (the most in the rankings) and is now ranked 17th.

Points in the National Team Computer Rankings are based off national descending order lists. The higher an athlete is ranked on the chart, the more points he or she provides his or her team.

The 2016 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held May 26-28 in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
