

2021 NCAA DIII Men’s Cross Country Regional Rankings – Week 5
NEW ORLEANS – We’re less than one month away from Regional Championships Saturday!
Here is the newest edition of the NCAA Division III Men’s Cross Country Regional Rankings for Week 5 of the 2021 season! With the promise of an action-packed weekend coming up, many of the top teams took a breather this past weekend, meaning few changes across the board.
Remember that Regional Championships Saturday is set for November 13!
East Region
There were no changes to the order of the top-5 teams in the East Region.
MIT and Bates remained No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, followed by No. 3 Colby, No. 4 WPI and No. 5 Tufts. Four of those top-5 programs: MIT, Bates, WPI and Tufts will compete this weekend at the Connecticut College Invitational.
Great Lakes Region
There were no changes to the order of the top-5 teams in the Great Lakes Region.
John Carroll and Otterbein remained No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, followed by No. 3 Case Western Reserve, No. 4 Calvin and No. 5 DePauw. All five of these top-5 programs will be in action this weekend between the Augustana Invitational (Calvin, DePauw and Otterbein) and the Oberlin Inter Regional Rumble (JCU and Case Western Reserve).
Metro Region
There were no changes to the order of the top-5 teams in the Metro Region.
Haverford and Rowan remained No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, followed by No. 3 TCNJ, No. 4 Ramapo and No. 5 DeSales. Four of those top-5 programs will compete at the Rowan Inter-Regional Border Battle this weekend: Haverford, Ramapo, Rowan and TCNJ.
Mid-Atlantic Region
There were no changes to the order of the top-5 teams in the Mid-Atlantic Region.
Johns Hopkins and Carnegie Mellon remained No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, followed by No. 3 Dickinson, No. 4 Messiah and No. 5 Lebanon Valley. Two of these top-5 teams will compete at the Rowan Inter-Regional Border Battle this weekend: Dickinson and Johns Hopkins.
Mideast Region
There were no changes to the order of the top-5 teams in the Mideast Region.
Williams and RPI remained No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, followed by No. 3 Middlebury, No. 4 Amherst and No. 5 Connecticut College. All five of these top-5 programs will compete at the Connecticut College Invitational this weekend.
Midwest Region
There were no changes to the order of the top-5 teams in the Midwest Region.
Wartburg and Washington (Mo.) remained No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, followed by No. 3 North Central (Ill.), No. 4 UChicago and No. 5 Loras. Three of these top-5 programs will compete at the Augustana Invitational this weekend: North Central (Ill.), UChicago and Wartburg.
Niagara Region
There were no changes to the order of the top-5 teams in the Niagara Region.
SUNY Geneseo and NYU remained No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, followed by No. 3 Hamilton, No. 4 Rochester (N.Y.) and No. 5 Ithaca. Both NYU and Hamilton raced this past weekend with the former running as a strong pack at the Mets Cross Country Championships and the latter capturing victory at the Hamilton Invitational by 35 points.
North Region
There were no changes to the order of the top-5 teams in the North Region.
UW-Whitewater and UW-La Crosse remained No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, followed by No. 3 Carleton, No. 4 UW-Oshkosh and No. 5 St. Olaf. Look for some great intra-regional competition this weekend at the Oberlin Inter Regional Rumble and the Drew/Neubauer Invitational.
South Region
There were no changes to the order of the top-5 teams in the South Region.
Emory and Lynchburg remained No. 1 and No. 2, followed by No. 3 Christopher Newport, No. 4 Berry and No. 5 Washington and Lee. You’ll see some great intra-regional racing this weekend at two different meets: Emory and Berry will compete against each other at the Berry Invitational; Lynchburg, CNU and Washington and Lee duel at the Rowan Border Battle.
West Region
There were no changes to the order of the top-5 teams in the West Region.
Pomona-Pitzer and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps remained No.1 and No. 2, followed by No. 3 UC Santa Cruz, No. 4 George Fox and No. 5 Occidental. The Stags ran roughshod to victory at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational this past weekend as they put their top-4 scorers in the top-10 and used a 25-second spread to win by 16 points over NCAA DII Azusa Pacific. Both Pomona-Pitzer and Occidental will compete at the Augustana Invitational this weekend, while George Fox makes a cross-country trip to compete at the Connecticut College Invitational.
