2017 NJCAA DIII Cross Country National Coaches’ Poll — Week 2
NEW ORLEANS – The men and women of Harper (Ill.) still reign supreme in the second week of the NJCAA Division III Cross Country National Rankings, announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Wednesday, but the remainder of the pack went through a bit of a shuffle.

Men’s Story
The Hawks posted a strong showing at the Midwest Intercollegiate Invitational to remain in the lead of the rankings, but a new face entered the rankings in second. Kingsborough (N.Y.) CC jumped in at second after Humberto Wallace, Paul Chillo and Dandre Mighty finished in the top-three spots of the College of Staten Island Invitational.
Middlesex Country (N.J.) also moved up in the rankings, jumping two spots to third after finishing second to Kingsborough (N.Y.) CC at the aforementioned meet.
Suffolk Country (N.Y.) CC and Rowan-Gloucester (N.J.) CC rounded out the top-five on the men’s side.
Women’s Story
The top-two spots of the women’s rankings mimicked the men’s, as the Harper (Ill.) women and Kingsborough (N.Y.) CC dominated the Midwest Intercollegiate Invitational and the College of Staten Island Invitational, respectively. Kingsborough (N.Y.) CC jumped a spot in the rankings from the last poll.
Also moving up into the top-three was Herkimer Country (N.Y.) CC, who moved to third from fourth. Chyanna Bernier led the way for the Generals at their home meet this past weekend, giving the squad a much deserved boost in the rankings.
Mohawk Valley (N.Y.) CC and Mercer Country (N.J.) CC both entered the rankings this week for the first time on the season, rounding out the top-five in fourth and fifth, respectively.
