

2019 NCAA DII Cross Country Regional Rankings – Week 4
NEW ORLEANS – It was a rather quiet weekend for racing, as not much movement occurred in this week’s edition of the NCAA Division II Cross Country Regional Rankings that were released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Tuesday.
All of the No. 1 teams remained in their spots and minimal movement occurred in the in positions No. 2-5.
MEN
ATLANTIC REGION
There was not much shifting in the Atlantic Region from Week 4 to Week 4.
No. 1 Charleston (W.V.) and No. 2 Edinboro stayed put from a week ago. The new No. 3 this week is Indiana (PA.), climbing up three spots from sixth to tie their highest placement since they were ranked third throughout the 2017 season. Davis & Elkins and Concord dropped to No. 4 and No. 5, respectively with IUP’s jump.
CENTRAL REGION
There was no change in the Central Region from Week 4 to Week 4.
No. 1 Missouri Southern, No. 2 Augustana, and No. 3 Northwest Missouri remained as the favorites to receive automatic NCAA bids.
Sioux Falls and MSU Moorhead sit at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.
EAST REGION
The East had a few changes from Week 3 to Week 4.
Southern CT State University continued to hold onto the No. 1 spot. Roberts Wesleyan jumped to No. 2 and bumping American International to No. 3.
Stonehill remained at No. 3, and Southern New Hampshire improved one spot to come in at No. 5.
MIDWEST REGION
The Midwest saw no changes from Week 3 to Week 4 for the third consecutive week.
No. 1 Grand Valley State, No. 2 Southern Indiana, and No. 3 Michigan Tech remain the favorites to earn automatic bids to NCAAs, while No. 4 Walsh and No. 5 Saginaw Valley round out the region.
SOUTH REGION
There was no movement in the South from Week 3 to Week 4.
No. 1 Lee (Tenn.), No. 2 Alabama-Huntsville, and No. 3 Embry-Riddle (Fla.) remain to be the favorites in the region. Saint Leo and Florida Southern stayed at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.
SOUTH CENTRAL REGION
There was some shuffling among the top-5 in the South Central from Week 3 to Week 4.
Colorado School of Mines continued to hold onto the top spot following a strong second place finish at Chile Pepper Festival. Adams State moved up one spot to No. 2 and bumping Western Colorado to No. 3 in the process.
West Texas A&M and UC-Colorado Springs traded places from a week ago to sit at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.
SOUTHEAST REGION
There was also no movement in the Southeast from last week’s standings for the fourth straight week.
Queens (N.C.), Mount Olive, and Augusta are still favored to make NCAAs with automatic bids. UNC Pembroke and Wingate round out the top teams at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.
WEST REGION
There were no changes in the West from Week 3 to Week 3.
No. 1 Chico State, No. 2 UC San Diego and No. 3 Cal State San Marcos are the favorites to earn automatic NCAA bids come November. No. 4 Cal Poly Pomona and No. 5 Stanislaus State round out the top regional teams.
WOMEN
ATLANTIC REGION
There were no changes in the Atlantic Region from Week 3 to Week 4.
No. 1 Davis & Elkins, No. 2 Edinboro, and No. 3 Seton Hill are still favored to receive the three automatic bids to NCAAs, while West Chester and Lock Haven remain at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.
CENTRAL REGION
There was one change in the Central from Week 3 to Week 4.
No. 1 Augustana (S.D.), No. 2 U-Mary, No. 3 Missouri Southern, and No. 4 Oklahoma Baptist continued to hold their rankings. East Central (Okla.) is back at No. 5 to round out the region.
EAST REGION
There were a few changes in the East from Week 3 to Week 4.
Roberts Wesleyan and Stonehill sit at No. 1 and No. 2 for the fifth consecutive week.
Southern New Hampshire reclaimed the No. 3 spot to bump No. 4 Adelphi down a position, while St. Anselm stayed at No. 5 to round out the top teams.
MIDWEST REGION
There were a few changes in the Midwest Region from Week 3 to Week 4.
No. 1 Grand Valley State and No. 2 Hillsdale continue to hold the top spots.
No. 3 belongs to Southwest Baptist following a solid outing at the Louisville Classic and moved into the top-5 for the first time this season. The move by the Bearcats saw Walsh (No. 4) and Southern Indiana (No. 5) drop one spot each.
SOUTH REGION
The South remained the same from Week 3 to Week 4.
No. 1 Lee (Tenn.), No. 2 Tampa, and No. 3 Embry-Riddle (Fla.) are the favored teams to earn automatic bids to NCAAs. No. 4 Florida Southern and No. 5 Union (Tenn.) to round out the top teams in the region.
SOUTH CENTRAL REGION
There was no movement in the South Central region from a week ago.
No. 1 Adams State, No. 2 Colorado School of Mines, and No. 3 Western Colorado remain the heavy favorites in the region to receive automatic bids to the NCAA Championships.
No. 4 UC-Colorado Springs and No. 5 Dallas Baptist held their positions.
SOUTHEAST REGION
The Southeast Region saw no changes from Week 3 to Week 4.
No. 1 Queens (N.C.), No. 2 Wingate, and No. 3 Flagler remained the favorites in the region for the second consecutive week. North Georgia and Lenior-Rhyne stay ranked at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.
WEST REGION
There were no changes in the West from Week 3 to Week 4. Chico State, Seattle Pacific, and Cal State East Bay stayed at No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 respectively, while Alaska Anchorage (No. 4) and Western Washington (No. 5) round out the region.
