2020 NJCAA Division III Cross Country Regional Awards

Men’s Athlete of the Year

CENTRAL REGION — Donovan Denslow — Mineral Area (Mo.)

Denslow, a sophomore from Eolia, Missouri, won the individual title at the Region XVI Championships in 27:11.1. He also posted strong finishes at both the Border XC Championships and the St. Louis Fall Classic.

NORTHEAST REGION — Hunter Brignall — Finger Lakes (N.Y.) CC

Brignall, a sophomore from Seneca Falls, New York, won the individual title at the Region III Championships in 27:38.5. He also placed first at the TC3 XC Invitational and the MVCC Hawks Invitational earlier this fall.

Men’s Coach of the Year

CENTRAL REGION — Steve Davis — Mineral Area (Mo.)

Davis, in his second year at Mineral Area (Mo.), has his Cardinals ranked No. 1 heading into the NJCAA DIII Championships. The Cardinals recently won the team title at the Region XVI Championships and also have topped the podium at the St. Louis Fall Classic and the Border XC Championships. Davis coached Donovan Denslow to three National Athlete of the Week honors during the cross country season.

NORTHEAST REGION — Jayden Donahue — Finger Lakes (N.Y.) CC

Donahue, in his second year at Finger Lakes (N.Y.) CC, has his team ranked No. 3 heading into the NJCAA Division III Championships. The Lakers won two of three meets this season, winning the SUNY Corning Red Baron Invitational and the MVCC Hawks Invitational, and finishing third at the TC3 XC Invitational. Hunter Brignall has earned two National Athlete of the Week honors under Donahue’s direction.

Women’s Athlete of the Year

CENTRAL REGION — Tiffany Lehmann — Joliet (Ill.) JC

Lehmann, a freshman from Joliet, Illinois, running in her first cross country season at any level, posted back-to-back wins to close the regular season, one at the Topper Town Invitational and then again at the Kishwaukee Halloween Hootenanny. She has been named USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week five times this season.

NORTHEAST REGION — Kira Williams — Fulton-Montgomery (N.Y.) CC

Williams, a sophomore from Mayfield, New York, is undefeated this season and won the individual title at the Region III Championships by one minute, 17 seconds in 24:27.9.

Women’s Coach of the Year

CENTRAL REGION — Jeff DeGraw — Joliet (Ill.) JC

DeGraw, in his second year at Joliet (Ill.) JC, coached Tiffany Lehmann to five NJCAA DIII Women’s National Athlete of the Week honors this season. The Wolves are ranked No. 1 heading into the NJCAA DIII Championships.
