Doane (Neb.) will continue holding the top spot in the National TFRI. The GPAC Champions have multiple athletes notch season bests to improve their billings in their respective events, with four sitting in the top-5 nationally: Conner Floyd in the pole vault (No. 4, 5.00m/16-4¾); Zach Turner in the 110H (No. 5, 14.08); Matthew Campbell in the discus (50.25m/164-11). The Tigers also have the fifth-ranked 4×800 (7:44.55).

No. 2 Indiana Tech held steady after winning the WHAC title and maintained its distance from No. 3 Southeastern (Fla.). The Warriors had Jaylen Coleman move to No. 8 in the triple jump with his 14.74m (48-4½). The 4×800 also turned in a top-10 effort, going 7:45.70 to move to No. 9.

The Fire also kept its billing after claiming the Sun Conference crown. Pacing the team was the 110H duo of Davonte Vanterpool and Glenn Rodgers as both men set season bests in the event. Vanterpool claimed the national lead at 13.85w, with Rodgers going 14.03w for the third-fastest time of the season.

No. 4 Wayland Baptist and No. 5 Huntington (Ind.) each gained spots in this week’s National TFRI to earn a position in the top-5. The Pioneers jumped 10 spots after their outing at the Corky/Crofoot Shootout. Top-7 national marks come from Donte Irving in the 400H (No. 5, 53.29c/53.18A), Dennis Kiptoo in the steeplechase (No. 6, 9:24.11c/9:31.23A), Che’ Lara in the 400 (No. 7, 47.48c/47.37A) and the 4×100 (No. 7, 41.32c/41.20A).

Here are the rest of the top-10 teams in Week 6: No. 6 Milligan (Tenn.), No. 7 Indiana Wesleyan, No. 8 Madonna (Mich.), No. 9 Montreat (N.C.) and No. 10 Westmont (Calif.).

The 2021 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be May 26-28 in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
