

2021 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Postseason Awards
NEW ORLEANS — Postseason awards for the 2021 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season were announced on Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) following the conclusion of the NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which were held last week on the campus of South Plains College in Levelland, Texas.

Denslow, a sophomore from Clarksville, Missouri, was named National Men’s Track Athlete of the Year. He turned in an incredible performance at the 2021 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships with victories in the 800 (1:59.27), 1500 (4:03.44) and 5000 (15:58.73), plus a runner-up effort with the 4×800 relay and a leg of the third-place 4×400 relay. During the regular season, Denslow topped the Descending Order List in each of those individual events. Kibler, a sophomore from Warrenville, Illinois, was named National Women’s Track Athlete of the Year. She had her hand in four event titles at the 2021 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, winning the 400 and 800 as an individual and running a leg of the first-place 4×400 and 4×800 relay teams. Kibler also finished fourth in the 5000. During the regular season, Kibler topped the Descending Order List in both the 400 and 800. Bunyard, a sophomore from Columbia, Maryland, was named National Men’s Field Athlete of the Year. He scored 38 points in field events at the 2021 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, with victories in both the decathlon (5476) and javelin (42.66m/140-0) and third-place efforts in the discus, long jump and shot put. During the regular season, his name was all over the Descending Order List and he put up 5908 points in an early April. Early, a freshman from Ellicott City, Maryland, was named National Women’s Field Athlete of the Year. She scored 32 points in field events at the 2021 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships thanks to a discus-hammer-shot put triple and finishing fifth in the javelin. During the regular season, Early topped the Descending Order List in both the discus and shot put and sat top-5 in the hammer and javelin. Cervanka, in his ninth year as head coach at College of DuPage, led the Chaps to a national title at the 2021 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships with 185 points. During the regular season, College of DuPage was ranked No. 1 in the National TFRI each week. Stratton, in her first year as an assistant coach at College of DuPage, helped the Chaps win the national title at the 2021 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. College of DuPage athletes under her direction scored 53 points, which included event titles in the 3000-meter steeplechase and the 4×800 relay.
