Nothing changed among the top-4 teams, as No. 1 UW-Oshkosh, No. 2 Loras, No. 3 Williams and No. 4 Wartburg continue to hold court atop the National TFRI. That doesn’t mean that big performances weren’t turned in as those teams bolstered their positions: the Titans saw Davian Willems match teammate Jaylen Grant for the second-fastest effort over 60 meters this season at 6.72, while Jonathan Wilburn improved his national lead in the triple jump to 15.15m (49-8½); the Duhawks received national top-7 marks from both Josh Smith in the 60 (No. 5, 6.79) and Ryan Harvey in the mile (No. 7, 4:09.11); and Dallas Wright cemented his spot atop the seasonal chart in both the 200 (21.62) and 400 (48.11) for the Knights.
Mount Union jumped five spots from No. 10 to No. 5. The Purple Raiders are peaking at the right time, especially in the high jump. Evan Hershberger and Tanner Slack both cleared 2.11m (6-11) at the OAC Indoor Championships and share the No. 2 spot on the seasonal chart. Kyel Wolff owns the national lead in the pole vault from his 4.73m (15-6¼) effort two weeks ago.
Here are the rest of the top-10 teams in Week 6: No. 6 UW-Eau Claire (down one spot), No. 7 SUNY Geneseo (down one spot), No. 8 MIT (down one spot), No. 9 Benedictine (Ill.) (up two spots) and No. 10 John Carroll (down two spots). The Eagles got two national top-10 efforts in the 200 from DJ Anderson (No. 4, 21.74) and Matt Fleming (No. 9, 21.90).
Mark your calendars for March 11-12, as that’s when the 2022 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina!
