

2022 NAIA Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Rating Index – Week 8
NEW ORLEANS – The top-5 teams remain the same in Week 8 of the NAIA Men’s Outdoor Track & Field National Rating Index, which was released on Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), but the order switches in the middle of the pack.

British Columbia continues to ride their 12 top-10 marks and headline the National TFRI. The Thunderbirds entered the top-5 for the first time this season in Week 2 and have never wavered. Over the weekend at the Cascade Conference Championships, Tyler Dozzi recorded the third-fastest 1500 (3:47.02), finishing second overall. Cameron Kuziak won the javelin, throwing the fourth-best mark of 61.79m (202-9).
Southeastern (Fla.) trails British Columbia with one less top-10 mark, totaling up 11 top-10 efforts heading into the NAIA Outdoor Championships next weekend. Zachary Nichols earned the Fire’s top mark after jumping to No. 2 in the national rankings in the hammer with a throw of 65.19m (213-11) this past weekend at the Charleston Southern Last Chance Qualifier.
Life (Ga.) moves up one spot to No. 3. The Running Eagles didn’t record any new top-10 marks, but Marvin Jean-Francois did run the No. 13 200 (21.13w) at the Lee University Last Chance Meet. Phemelo Matlhabe (200) and the 4×400 relay team continue to hold the No. 1 times in NAIA. The NAIA announced the qualifiers for the decathlon on Monday and Michael Panzarino was named to the list after his No. 14 performance (6,157) last weekend at the UMO Multis Meet.
Indiana Tech falls one spot to No. 4. Several Warriors competed at the Oakland Last Chance Meet over the weekend. Miles Gray ran the No. 15 400 (47.62) and Dylan Bikim cleared 2.06m(6-9) for the thirteenth-best high jump. Indiana Tech has a pair of national-leading marks in the 100 and 4×100 and pair of No. 2 marks in the 400 and 4×400.
The Master’s (Calif.) remains at No. 5. Entering this week, the Mustangs have six top-10 marks. Wesley Methum (10,000) and Caleb Pouliot (Pole Vault) both have the team’s highest mark, ranking second-nationally in their respective events.
Outside the top five, No. 10 Taylor (Ind.) jumped up seven spots. Sammy Sommers took over the national lead in the long jump (7.58m/24-10½), after finishing first at the St. Francis Fighting Chance Invite. Connor White gave the Trojans another top-5 mark after running the No. 3 steeple (9:09.84).
