2023 NCAA DII Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Rating Index – Week 4
NEW ORLEANS – Here is Week 4 of the NCAA Division II Men’s Outdoor Track & Field National TFRI, as released on Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Only marks from the current season are being used, which gives an objective look at those teams who are looking to contend as we head into the beginning of this outdoor season.

Pittsburg State rises one spot this week to take the No. 1 spot in the nation in Week 4. They feature two national leaders: Cordell Tinch in the 110-meter hurdles (13.22w) and Henry Kiner in the triple jump (16.41mw/53-10¼). The Gorillas added a pair of top relays, a No. 2 4×100 team (39.76), and a No. 4 4×400 team (3:09.68). They have six additional top-5 performances, including Kiner in the long jump (7.70mw/25-3¾), Tinch in the high jump (2.15m/7-0½),TJ Caldwell (13.63w) and Daylin Williams (13.64w) in the 110H, Caleb Calvin in javelin (73.02m/239-7), and Hunter Jones in the decathlon (7277).
West Texas A&M drops one spot to No. 2 in Week 4 of the TFRI. The Buffs feature a nation leading 4×100 relay (38.92), and a No. 4 4×400 (3:09.68). They added six additional top-5 individual performances, including Isaac Botsio, No. 2 in the 100 meter (10.09c), and Quinton Sansing, No. 2 in the 400 meter (46.01c). Joseph Manu, a leg on their 4×100, adds a national No. 3 performance in the 100 meter (10.11c) and a No. 10 performance (20.87c) in the 200 meter. Butare Rugenerwa holds down a pair of top-10 performances in the middle-distance events: a No. 4 spot in the 800 meter 1:48.19, and a No. 8 spot in the 1500 meter (3:45.04).
Grand Valley State stays steady in the No. 3 position in Week 4 of the TFRI. The Lakers have a pair of top ranked athletes this week: Eli Kosiba in the high jump (2.20m/7-2½), and Myles Kerner in the shot put (19.59m/64-3¼). They add a pair of No. 2 marks in Caleb Futter’s 8:42.20 mark in the steeplechase and Jacob Urban’s 65.76m (215-9) mark in the hammer throw. Jonathan Rankins-James’ 2.15m (7-0 ½) in the high jump rounds out the marks for the Lakers in the top-3 of the nation.
Adams State rises 16 spots to the No. 4 position in the Week 4 TFRI. They feature a pair of national leaders: Miguel Coca in the 1500 meter (3:40.96c); and Cameron Allan in the 10000 meter (28:37.09). Coca also holds the No. 3 position in the 5000 meter (13:36.51), and is joined among the top echelons of that event by teammate No. 4 Awet Beraki (13:50.64), who is also the national No. 2 in the 10000 meter (28:42.09). Papay Glaywulu rounds out the members of the top-5 for Adams State with a No. 2 mark of 15.89mw (52-1¾) in the triple jump.
Angelo State dropped one spot this week to the No. 5 position on the TFRI. They own just one national leading performance, from Oussama El Bouchayby in the 800 meter (1:45.31). They also add a pair of No. 2 performances, from Devoux Deysel in javelin (74.37m/244-0) and Elvis Kryukov in the decathlon (7296), as well as No. 4 in discus Cason Brown (54.21mA/177-10) and No. 4 in decathlon Kyle Lumpkins (7197).
