Cross Country Polls & Rankings

It was quite the successful weekend for the top five: No. 1 Adams State dominated the RMAC Championships by more than 50 points; No. 2 Grand Valley State scored 23 points in its 23rd straight GLIAC conference championship; and No. 5 Lewis won its third straight GLVC title. No. 3 CSU Pueblo and No. 4 Colorado School of Mines also competed at RMACs, finishing second and sixth overall, respectively. (The Orediggers did not field its top squad at the conference meet.)

As for the rest of our top ten: No. 6 West Texas A&M continued its climb as it jumped three spots following its victory at the Lone Star Conference Championships, where it went 1-2-3 individually; No. 8 Augustana (S.D.) dominated the NSIC Championships; No. 9 UC Colorado Springs exceeded expectations at the RMAC Championships and improved several spots; and No. 10 Lee (Tenn.) became the first team in conference meet history to post a perfect score.

Other notable conference champions include SAC champ No. 7 Wingate, MIAA champ No. 12 Pittsburg State, CCAA champ No. 13 Chico State, Pac West champ No. 16 Biola (Calif.), and SSC champ No. 30 Nova Southeastern.

Fort Lewis had the biggest move of the week as it soared eight spots from No. 23 to No. 15 following its strong effort at the stacked RMAC Championships. Several other programs saw their stock increase, such as No. 22 Stanislaus State and No. 24 Northwest Missouri. No. 14 Western Washington, No. 17 Colorado Christian, No. 20 Rogers State, and No. 28 Catawba all improved between Week 5 and Week 6 as well.

Regional Championships Saturday is set for Saturday, November 9, where the field for the 2024 NCAA DII Cross Country Championships will be decided. The NCAA Championships will be held at the Arcade Creek Cross Country Course in Sacramento, California on November 23.
