2020 NJCAA DIII Men’s Cross Country National Coaches’ Ranking – Week 3
NEW ORLEANS – There weren’t too many changes to the NJCAA Division III Men’s Cross Country National Coaches’ Ranking with three weeks left in the season.
The top-3 teams remained the same – No. 1 Mineral Area (Mo.), No. 2 Joliet (Ill.) JC, No. 3 Finger Lakes (N.Y.) CC – while No. 4 Georgia Military College and No. 5 Corning (N.Y.) CC swapped spots from the previous week (Corning (N.Y.) CC had been No. 4, GMC sat at No. 5 in Week 2).

Cross Country Polls & Rankings
Mineral Area (Mo.) has proved itself to be worthy of the top spot throughout the season, most notably at the Border XC Championships two weeks ago. It was in Elsah, Illinois, where former National Athlete of the Week Donovan Denslow led five Cardinals in the top-10 as they took down a trio of four-year programs. Denslow finished runner-up individually in that race.
Joliet (Ill.) JC most recently competed at the Topper Town Invitational this past weekend, taking fourth place as a team. The Wolves held their own against several NJCAA Division II programs and got a top effort from Nate Chaidez, who took 11th overall.
Finger Lakes (N.Y.) CC and Corning (N.Y.) CC recently met up at the Red Baron Invitational on October 10. The final results might be a little deceiving since the host Red Barons didn’t field a full team and were not counted as such. If the meet was scored through four athletes, though, Corning (N.Y.) CC would have topped the Lakers by a score of 23-24. However, Finger Lakes (N.Y.) CC did have the next finisher, which would have assured at least a share of the team title – depending on the fact that the next Red Baron hypothetically would finish hot on his heels.
Georgia Military College has sparse results available, but is scheduled to compete at the GCAA/NJCAA Region XVII Championships this afternoon at 5:15 pm ET.
Here are the rest of the teams in the rankings: No. 6 St. Charles (Mo.) CC, No. 7 Lorain County (Ohio) CC, No. 8 Fulton-Montgomery (N.Y.) CC.
