

2021 NAIA Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Rating Index – Week 3
NEW ORLEANS – Here is the third installment of the NAIA Women’s Outdoor Track & Field National Rating Index for the 2021 season, which was released on Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Indiana Tech moved up three spots to No. 2 in this week’s National TFRI. The Warriors earned their boost thanks to nine key performances, including two national leads from Loanie Cellard in the racewalk (No. 1, 25:30.87) and Leondra Correia in the 100H (No. 1, 13.93w). Katlyn Jones and Renique Smith give the Warriors three athletes ranked in the top-10 in the 100H: Jones is No. 6 (14.41w) and Smith is No. 7 (14.45w).
Wayland Baptist (Texas) remained at No. 3 for the second consecutive week. Coshan Campbell improved upon her national leading time in the 800, clocking 2:12.04c (2:12.42A) at the Masked Rider Open, while Teresha Jacobs ran 2:17.30c (2:17.70A) (No. 8) in her first 800 of the year. Safia Bright improved to No. 3 on the Descending Order List in the 200 after running 24.04c (24.00A), which pairs well with her No. 2 standing in the 100 (11.61w).
Southeastern (Fla.) fell two spots to No. 4 in part of Indiana Tech’s climb. The Fire’s Jaqual Bush clocked 23.87w in the 200 for the national lead at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational. In the 100, Oluwafikayomi Lawrence (No. 8, 11.91) and Shaniya Berry (No. 10, 11.95w) posted season best efforts, while Michelle Tierney notched the No. 10 point total in the heptathlon (4028).
Rounding out the top-5 is Hastings (Neb.) after a one spot gain. Tiersa Darley improved her No. 2 ranking in the javelin with a heave of 46.24m (151-9). In her first steeplechase of the year, Aleisha McDonald ran the sixth fastest time of 11:48.46 to give the Broncos their ninth top-10 nationally ranked performance.
Here are the rest of the top-10 teams in Week 3: No. 6 William Carey (Miss.), No. 7 Milligan (Tenn.), No. 8 Cornerstone (Mich.), No. 9 Doane (Neb.) and No. 10 Marian (Ind.).
Two of the biggest gainers this week’s National TFRI were Cornerstone (Mich.) (up 25 spots from No. 33) and No. 15 Dakota State (S.D.) (up 12 from No. 27).
