2023 NJCAA Division I Cross Country Postseason Awards

NEW ORLEANS â€” Postseason awards for the 2023 NJCAA Division I Cross Country season were handed out on Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) following the conclusion of the 2023 NJCAA Division II Cross Country Championships, which were held this past weekend at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Alabama.

USTFCCCA National Award Winners

National Women's Athlete of the Year

Gradizzi, who hails from Aosta Valley, Italy, won the individual title at the 2023 NJCAA Division I Cross Country Championships in 17:20.9. She also won the individual title at the Region 11 Cross Country Championships in 18:52.3 and was the leading JUCO athlete at the Platte River Rumble.

National Women's Coach of the Year

Wood coached Salt Lake (Utah) CC to the team title at the 2023 NJCAA Division I Cross Country Championships. Led by individual runner-up Emerald Kehr, the Bruins had all five scorers in the top-20 to score 47 points and win by 46 points. Salt Lake completed just its second year as a program in cross country.

National Men's Coach of the Year

Masterson coached Trinidad State (Colo.) to the team title at the 2023 NJCAA Division I Cross Country Championships. Led by third-place finisher Kidus Misgina, the Trojans had four top-20 placers to score 71 points and win by seven points. Trinidad State also won the team title at the Region 9 Championships, scoring 27 points to win by 17 points.
