Defending champion Harper (Ill.) has been No. 1 since first appearing in the TFRI in Week 2. The Hawks will be led by current M-F Athletic National Athlete of the Week Lilly Alberts, who leads three events – the 400 (56.09), 800 (2:10.81) and 1500 (4:40.25). Last year she won the 800 and anchored Harper to wins in all three relays (4×100, 4×400 and 4×800). The Hawks also have nation-leading marks in the 5000 with Isabella Wojciekowski (19:24.94), 100 hurdles with Chloe Wintergerst (16.15) and the 4×400 (4:10.35). Chloe’s sister Lily is back as defending champion in the pole vault.
In-state rival College of DuPage (Ill.) is No. 2. The Chaps were runner-up last year after winning the two previous years (and claim three more titles from 2000-02 and ’04). DuPage has four national-leading marks, with two coming from Ellie Logsdon in the 100 (12.22) and 400 hurdles (1:06.11). In addition, Patrycja Karpiesiuk leads the pole vault at 3.15m (10-4) and the Chaps have the fastest 4×100 at 49.65.
Suffolk County (N.Y.) CC moves up to No. 3. The Sharks – fourth last year after winning team crowns in 2016 and ’19 – have two national leaders: Malia Fowler in the high jump at 1.57m (5-1¾) and Aaliyah Shorter in the triple jump at 10.44m (34-3). Fowler was a double champ last year, winning the 100 hurdles and heptathlon.
No. 4 is Mineral Area (Mo.), down one spot from last week. The Cardinals – fifth last year and runner-up in 2021 – have two national leaders in Amaya Rique in the 200 (25.30cw) and Cassidy Herget in the javelin (37.19m/122-0).
RCSJ Gloucester (N.J.) is No. 5 for the fourth week in a row. The Roadrunners, who were ninth last year after a runner-up finish in 2022, last won this meet in 2013. They have the nation’s leading 4×800 team at 11:21.67 as well as quadruple-throws threat Kara Knorr – who leads the hammer (33.06m/108-6) and scored 38 points in 2022, winning the shot, hammer and javelin and taking second in the discus.
Rounding out the top-10 teams in the National TFRI are No. 6 Mohawk Valley (N.Y.) CC, No. 7 Joliet (Ill.) JC, No. 8 Hudson Valley (N.Y.) CC, No. 9 Queensborough (N.Y.) CC and No. 10 Finger Lakes (N.Y.) CC.
