2022 NCAA DIII Men’s Indoor Track & Field Rating Index – Week 3
NEW ORLEANS – The postseason is getting closer!
Here is the newest edition of the NCAA Division III Men’s Indoor Track & Field National Rating Index, as released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Tuesday. No marks from previous seasons are used in this ranking system, which gives a true, comprehensive and objective look at the current indoor season.

Nothing changed at the top, as UW-Oshkosh and Loras held steady at No. 1 and No. 2. Both teams had impressive performances this past weekend: the top-ranked Titans saw Eli Tranel climb to No. 2 on the Descending Order List in the pole vault at 5.00m (16-4¾); the Duhawks got a sterling 800-meter effort from Mike Jasa, who covered nearly three laps of the oversized track at the Notre Dame Meyo Invitational in 1:49.95 and finish runner-up in a talented field.
Wartburg jumped two spots from No. 5 to No. 3 following a strong weekend. Dallas Wright continues to lead the Knights, as he was part of two different top-2 efforts: Wright is now the second-best seasonal performer in the 400 with his 48.66 effort and toted the baton second on the chart-topping distance medley relay that got the baton around in 9:59.21.
UW-Eau Claire remained at No. 4 for yet another week. The Blugolds hold six national top-10 marks, including three top-7 efforts in the heptathlon alone. Marcus Weaver has the best total in the heptathlon this season – and in NCAA DIII history – with his 5533-point output.
Williams dropped two spots from No. 3 to No. 5 to no fault of its own. The Ephs control five national top-10 marks with two from Aidan Ryan. Don’t forget that Ryan set the NCAA DIII record in the mile at 3:56.88 and took down the all-time, all-conditions divisional best in the 3000 with his 7:55.29 effort earlier this season.
Here are the rest of the top-10 teams in Week 3: No. 6 MIT, No. 7 Mount Union, No. 8 SUNY Geneseo, No. 9 Benedictine (Ill) and No. 10 John Carroll. This is the ninth time in the past 10 weeks that the Blue Streaks have been ranked among the nation’s top-10 teams.
Mark your calendars for March 11-12, because that’s when the 2022 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
