2018 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Rankings – Week 4
NEW ORLEANS – Less than three weeks remain until the 2018 NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships, which will be held in Pittsburg, Kansas from March 1-3.
With that in mind, it’s time to look at the latest NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Team Computer Rankings released Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
After a lot of movement between Week 2 and Week 3, fewer teams changed positions between Week 3 and Week 4. A total of 17 men’s teams and 18 women’s teams swapped spots.

Men’s Story
Nothing changed in the top-5 as Indiana Tech, Wayland Baptist (Texas), Doane (Neb.), Cornerstone (Mich.) and Central Christian (Kan.) still sit first through fifth, respectively.
Look closer and you’ll see that the lead the Warriors have over the Pioneers shrank. Wayland Baptist gained 44.98 points this week to cut Indiana Tech’s advantage to less than 40 points. The Pioneers were boosted by the efforts of Quintaveon Poole and Tre Hinds this past weekend, who took over the No. 1 ranking in the 400 and 600, respectively.
Two moves shook up the top-10 as Aquinas (Mich.) and St. Francis (Ill.) vaulted two and six spots, respectively. The Saints went from No. 9 to No. 7 thanks to Curtis Bell (No. 1 in the pole vault) and the second-ranked DMR quartet. The Fighting Saints jumped from No. 15 to No. 9 following a weekend that saw Brian Blaylock take over the No. 2 spot in the mile and the DMR quartet notch the fourth fastest mark in the nation.
Women’s Story
Indiana Tech holds down the top spot for the 28th consecutive week, but it has some company as Wayland Baptist (Texas) jumped two spots from No. 4 to No. 2.
The Pioneers now hold 10 top-5 marks nationally, including a new No. 1 spot by Devin Johnson in the 200. Johnson, who is also ranked No. 5 in the 60, ripped off a time of 24.78 this past weekend to join the team’s DMR quartet with No. 1 billings.
Wayland Baptist jumped both Southern-New Orleans (La.) and Friends (Kan.) in the process. Neither of those programs turned in better marks between Week 3 and Week 4.
Doane (Neb.) held down the No. 5 spot once again, making it the 26th time in program history that it has been in that lofty company.
