College of DuPage ends the regular season on top and cemented its spot this past weekend. National Athlete of the Week Olivia Kalata took over the national lead in the pole vault at 3.40m (11-1¾), while Shaylinn Aver and Emily Fetzer – both former National Athletes of the Week – improved their No. 1 and No. 2 marks in the 1500 on the Descending Order List.
Suffolk County CC leapfrogged Mineral Area College into the No. 2 spot. The Sharks added 11 new or improved national top-10 marks this past weekend, including a national leader from their 4×100 relay team at 51.20. Kimberly Dean, one of the members of that relay squad, hit a 13.15 in the 100 to move up to No. 2 on the Descending Order List in that event.
Harper College was the only other top-5 team to add to its resume this past weekend. Maggie Hall did her best work at the Benedictine Eagle Tune-Up, as she hit the third-best discus mark of the season at 26.28m (86-2¼) and the fourth-best javelin heave at 25.80m (84-7¾).
