Cross Country Polls & Rankings
Oxford (Ga.) won their first-ever national championship last year, but they had never rated as No. 1 in the national coaches poll until this week. The Eagles impressed with two performances in the two weeks since the Week 1 poll, taking fifth at the Asics Invitational after a 4th at the Coach Gary Wilson Invitational. Both times, Oxford was only topped by teams from four-year schools.
Mineral Area (Mo.) CC dropped one notch to No. 2, while Joliet (Ill.) JC, Harper (Ill.) and RCSJ Gloucester (N.J.) repeated as Nos. 3-5. Harper is led by Lilly Alberts, who has earned M-F Athletic National Athlete of the Week honors the last two weeks.
Completing the top-10 are No. 6 Georgia Military, No. 7 Hudson Valley (N.Y.) CC, No. 8 Kellogg (Mich.) CC, No. 9 Central Carolina (N.C.) CC and No. 10 SUNY Broome CC.
The 2022 NJCAA Division III Cross Country Championships are just over four weeks away on Saturday, November 5 at Stanley Park in Westfield, Massachusetts.
