NEW ORLEANS – Mineral Area (Mo.) CC is at the top in the Week 1 edition of the NJCAA Division III Women’s Cross Country National Coaches’ Poll, released Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Cross Country Polls & Rankings
The Cardinals, fourth in last year’s national championships, claimed the pole position over reigning champion Oxford (Ga.), which checks in at No. 2. The 2022 NJCAA Division III Cross Country Championships are set for Saturday, November 5 at Stanley Park in Westfield, Massachusetts.
No. 3 is Joliet (Ill.) JC, runner-up last year after winning the title in 2020. Harper (Ill.) is No 4 – the Hawks were fifth last year and won three straight national crowns from 2016-18.
No. 5 is Rowan Gloucester (N.J.); the Roadrunners won the national title in 2012.
Next in line are No. 6 Georgia Military, No. 7 SUNY Broome CC, No. 8 Central Carolina (N.C.) CC and No. 9 Hudson Valley (N.Y.) CC. Only nine programs are ranked as several teams have yet to kick off their season. Leah Lloyd of Finger Lakes (N.Y.) CC is the leading individual returner, having finished 3rd last year.
