

2023 NCAA DIII Men’s Indoor Track & Field Rating Index – Week 2
NEW ORLEANS – The season is off to a hot start.
Here is the newest edition of the NCAA DIII Men’s Indoor Track & Field National Rating Index, as released on Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). No marks from previous seasons have been used, meaning that this objective list is compiled solely of current qualifying marks from the 2023 indoor track & field season.

UW-Oshkosh held steady at No. 1 and cemented its spot after adding or improving three national top-10 marks. The Titans did most of their work in the heptathlon with RJ Bosshart and Aden Sears notching the fifth- and sixth-best scores of 4918 and 4896, respectively.
MIT made its way to No. 2 following a busy weekend. The Engineers added or improved seven national top-10 marks, six of which came in mid-distance and distance events. Sam Aquaviva and Matthew Kearney are both ranked second nationally in the 3000 meters and 5000 meters at 8:00.41 and 14:01.76, respectively. MIT’s distance medley relay tops the nation at 9:44.98.
Williams and UW-La Crosse both maintained a firm grasp of the No. 3 and No. 4 spots. The third-ranked Ephs received the fourth-best mile from Elias Lindgren (4:08.10) and the third-best DMR (10:07.96), while the fourth-ranked Eagles were given an NCAA DIII record from Sam Blaskowski in the 200 meters at 21.13 (Blaskowski ranks No. 1 in both the 60 and 200).
Loras fell three spots from No. 5 to No. 2 after failing to add or improve any top-10 marks.
