

2025 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Postseason Awards
NEW ORLEANS — Postseason awards for the 2025 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season were announced on Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), following the conclusion of the 2025 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which were held this past weekend in Utica, New York.

Jim Akins was named the National Women’s Assistant Coach of the Year for the 2025 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season. Akins, in his fourth year as assistant coach at Mineral Area (Mo.), coached the Cardinals throwers to account for 53 of the team’s 84.5 points in finishing third at the 2025 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. His athletes won three of the throwing events and finished runner-up in another event with four different athletes. Floyd Turner was named the National Men’s Assistant Coach of the Year for the 2025 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season. Turner, in his third year as assistant coach at College of DuPage (Ill.), coached the Chaps throwers to account for 42 of the team’s 195 points in winning the team title at the 2025 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Three of his throwers scored in two events each, led by hammer throw champion Sterling Sawicki. Mallory Dominguez was named the National Women’s Coach of the Year for the 2025 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season. Dominguez, in her second year as head coach at College of DuPage (Ill.), led the Chaps to the team title at the 2025 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The Chaps won nine events in scoring 174 points to win the meet by 79 points. Mallory Dominguez was named the National Men’s Coach of the Year for the 2025 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season. Dominguez, in her second year as head coach at College of DuPage (Ill.), led the Chaps to their fifth-straight team title at the 2025 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The Chaps won five events in scoring 195 points to win the meet by 66 points. Tierra Hooker of Camden County (N.J.) was named National Women’s Field Athlete of the Year for the 2025 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season. Hooker, who hails from Erial, New Jersey, swept the high jump and long jump at the 2025 NJCAA DIII Outdoor Track & Field Championships with efforts of 1.55m (5-1) and 5.50m (18-0½), respectively. She led the divisional season list in both events, including a high jump best of 1.62m (5-3¾) earlier this year. William Kallas of College of DuPage (Ill.) was named National Men’s Field Athlete of the Year for the 2025 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season. Kallas, who hails from Riverdale, Illinois, won the pole vault at the 2025 NJCAA DIII Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a clearance of 4.50m (14-9). That was one of five event titles he captured this season. Back in March, he posted the highest effort in the division since at least 2012 with a clearance of 4.85m (15-11). Ellie Logsdon of College of DuPage (Ill.) was named National Women’s Track Athlete of the Year for the 2025 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season. Logsdon, who hails from Genoa, Illinois, won three events at the 2025 NJCAA DIII Outdoor Track & Field Championships – the 100 (12.47w), 400 (57.85) and 400 hurdles (1:05.60) – and also ran legs on the winning 4×100 (50.07) and 4×400 (4:10.31) relay teams. Earlier in the season she set the national NJCAA DIII record in the 400 hurdles at 1:01.71. Nathan Ciarlette of Joliet (Ill.) JC was named National Men’s Track Athlete of the Year for the 2025 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season. Ciarlette, who hails from Joliet, Illinois, won three events at the 2025 NJCAA DIII Outdoor Track & Field Championships – the 800 (1:58.62), 1500 (4:05.86) and 5000 (16:13.30) – and also ran a leg on the winning 4×800 relay team (8:00.34). Earlier in the season he set national NJCAA DIII records in the 800 at 1:54.79 and 1500 at 3:52.04.National Women's Assistant Coach of the Year
