

2021 NCAA Division III Men’s Cross Country All-Academic Athletes
NEW ORLEANS – The Men’s Scholar Athlete of the Year and All-Academic Athletes for the 2021 NCAA Division III Cross Country season were announced on Thursday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Elias Lindgren of Williams was named the Men’s Scholar Athlete of the Year for the 2021 NCAA Division III Cross Country season. Lindgren, a junior from Merion Station, Pennsylvania, who majors in Mathematics and Computer Science, finished runner-up at the 2021 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships in Louisville, Kentucky. He is the first male athlete from Williams to be named Scholar Athlete of the Year in cross country.
Overall, there were 248 men from 91 different institutions who were named All-Academic Athletes for their efforts during the 2021 season.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 percent of their respective regional championship meet.
