Indiana Wesleyan leapfrogged Milligan (Tenn.) into the No. 1 spot, even though the Buffaloes have four more first-place votes. The Wildcats opened their season two weeks ago at the IWU Twilight Invitational with a resounding victory over several top-25 programs. IWU put its entire scoring lineup in the top-15, led by the 1-2 punch of Eli Fullerton and Steven Ott in third and fourth place, respectively.
Saint Mary (Kan.) jumped two spots from No.5 to No. 3 after a strong showing at the Missouri Southern Stampede this past weekend. The Spires finished fifth in the University/Open 8k in a controlled effort.
Former No. 3 Dordt (Iowa) fell one spot to No. 4, while The Master’s (Calif.) cracked the top-5 for the first time this season at No. 5. The Mustangs climbed two spots after a seventh-place showing at the UCR Invitational this past weekend, where it beat several NCAA DI programs in the process.
Here are the rest of the top-10 teams: No. 6 Eastern Oregon, No. 7 Oklahoma City, No. 8 Cornerstone (Mich.), No. 9 Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) and No. 10 Grace (Ind.).
Mark your calendars for Friday, November 18, as that’s when the 2022 NAIA Cross Country Championships will be held at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Florida.
