2023 NCAA Division III Cross Country All-America
NEW ORLEANS — All-America honors for the 2023 NCAA Division III Cross Country season were announced on Monday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Athletes from member institutions earned All-America recognition by finishing among the top-40 athletes in their gender’s respective races this past weekend at the 2023 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships in Newville, Pennslyvania.
Races for the team titles couldn’t have been more exciting this past weekend as both the men’s and women’s competitions came down to the wire. Pomona-Pitzer regained the top spot on the podium by one point over UW-La Crosse, while Carleton won its first national title in program history as the top-4 teams were separated by just seven points.
Four seemed to be the magic number, as Pomona-Pitzer led all programs with four All-America honors and four women’s teams registered three top-40 finishers. National champion Carleton wasn’t one of those women’s teams, but Central (Iowa), Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, NYU and UChicago were.
No conference had more athletes earn All-America status than the UAA with 11. Both the American Rivers and the SCIAC hauled in eight, while the WIAC was a close fourth with seven.
