Cross Country Polls & Rankings

UW-La Crosse remains as the overwhelming favorite to win the title in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The Eagles did not use their top men when competing at the Phoenix Open in Green Bay. Instead, they opted to give some of the newer runners on the team a chance to race.

Wartburg stays at the second position in the poll after a dominant performance at the Redbird Invitational at opp Illinois State. The Knights, who amassed just 16 points at the meet, continue to flex their depth and will continue to do so as their fall campaign continues.

SUNY Geneseo maintains their third place spot in the poll, as they competed at the Rodenbeck Invitational. The Knights opted to not race any of their top squad, but still crushed the field with seven runners in the top ten, including places 1-2-3-5-6 for a total of 17 points.

Pomona-Pitzer takes the fourth position over Johns Hopkins as the Sagehens display a measured effort at the Cougar Challenge. With Jack Stein leading the way, he was followed by the rest of the top five that was separated by just 14 seconds.

Johns Hopkins falls to fifth despite a strong runner-up team performance behind NCAA DI No. 6 Virginia at the aptly named Virginia Invitational. Lead runner Emmanuel Leblond finished third overall on the challenging Panorama Farms course and saw the rest of the Blue Jays follow with a 43-second spread. Leblond was named M-F Athletic National Athlete of the Week for his efforts – the first JHU male athlete to earn national weekly honors.

North Central (Ill.) breaks the tie of sixth place from St. Olaf, as the Oles fall to seventh. The Cardinals won their home invite with an impressive solo performance by BJ Sorg, the former M-F Athletic National Athlete of the Week. RPI stays at eighth place after beating number nine Williams at the Vassar Ron Stonitsch Invitational. UW-Whitewater does not race their top men and hold their place at tenth to round out the top-ten teams.

The path is already set for the 2025 NCAA DIII Cross Country Championships which will be held on Saturday, November 22, at the Roger Millikin Cross Country Course in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
