Cross Country Polls & Rankings
UW-La Crosse remains at the top of the polls for the 13th consecutive week. This comes after a dominant, yet relaxed performance at the St. Olaf Invitational where the Eagles worked together in close groups to display their depth, rather than presenting their full hand.
Wartburg holds steady at No. 2, a place it has held for 11 consecutive weeks. The Knights did not race this past weekend and look to race at home at the Dan Hutson Invitational in early October along with the Augustana Interregional Invitational in Rock Island, Illinois.
SUNY Geneseo stays at its third place spot. The Knights competed at the Yellowjacket Invitational in Rochester, New York, and won the meet without six of their top runners. Collin Brown and Ian Zehnder led the way for SUNY Geneseo in fourth and fifth place, respectively.
Pomona-Pitzer maintains its fourth position after an idle week. The Sagehens look ahead to competing against other nationally ranked teams at the Augustana Interregional Invitational.
Johns Hopkins rounds out the top-five teams as it also did not compete this past weekend. The Blue Jays look to continue their success at the Paul Short Invitational in October.
North Central (Ill.) holds its sixth-place ranking after it won the DIII Pre-Nats meet over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, now ranked ninth following an eight-spot jump. The Cardinals’ dynamic duo of BJ Sorg and Oscar Frontjes took first and second overall, respectively.
Tufts soars ahead to seventh in the polls as the Jumbos defeated RPI and Williams at the Purple Valley XC Classic. Williams rises to eighth in the rankings after beating RPI at the aforementioned meet. RPI falls two spots to tenth following losses to Tufts and Williams.
We’re headed down the path to the 2025 NCAA DIII Cross Country Championships which will be held at the Roger Millikin Cross Country Course in Spartanburg, South Carolina on November 22, 2025.
