Cross Country Polls & Rankings
The reigning national champion Colorado School of Mines remains the team to beat sitting at the No. 1 spot of this week’s rankings. No. 2 Adams State, No. 3 Wingate, and No. 4 Grand Valley State are on the Orediggers’ heels, eager for an opportunity to dethrone the current kings of Division II. No. 5 Colorado Christian will join the chase after vaulting over No. 6 Chico State. The Cougars cracked the top-5 after duking it out this weekend at the Roadrunners College Invitational alongside the likes of Air Force and MSU Denver.
That wasn’t the only development in the top-10 as Augustana (S.D.), West Texas A&M, Western Washington, and Saginaw Valley State all surged up a spot. However, the talk of the town should be directed towards No. 11 Nebraska-Kearney and No. 13 East Central (Okla.) after the two teams climbed 12 notches. The Lopers posted their second highest ranking in program history following an impressive showing at the Greeno/Dirksen Invitational that saw them place five men in the top-40. On the other hand, the Tigers put all five scorers in front of any other team’s top three at the Missouri Southern Stampede.
No. 18 UC-Colorado Springs, No. 19 Cal Poly Pomona, and No. 27 Augusta also improved their billing in Week 1.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 18, as the 2023 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships will take place at the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course in Joplin, Missouri!
