

2022 NJCAA DIII Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Rating Index – Week 5
NEW ORLEANS – College of DuPage (Ill.) stormed back to No. 1 in the Week 5 edition of the 2022 NJCAA Division III Men’s Outdoor Track & Field National Track & Field Rating Index, which was released Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Only marks from the 2022 indoor and outdoor track & field seasons have been used in this objective compilation.

Back at No. 1, College of DuPage (Ill.) – defending team champion – is stronger than it has been all season, surpassing 600 points for the first time. The Chaps have 14 top-5 marks, with four of them being national leaders. Josh Rivers has two of the nation’s best (1.90m/6-2¾ in the high jump and 6.93mw/22-9w in the long jump) while John Sassan leads the javelin (56.40m/185-1). Both are members of the leading 4×100 relay team at 43.37.
Mineral Area (Mo.) drops to No. 2 after being No. 1 three of the previous four weeks. The Cardinals 17 top-5 marks – most in the nation – and have four national leaders in Hunter Cary in both the 110 hurdles (15.24w) and decathlon (5591), while Jacob Arnold (5000, 15:43.09) and Kyle Vinyard (10,000, 32:05.56) also pace their events (with other following at No. 2 both times).
Hudson Valley (N.Y.) CC is No. 3 as the rest of the top-10 remained the same. The Vikings improved to nine top-5 marks, led by sprinter Charles Benichoux, who leads both the 100 (10.67) and 200 (21.97).
No. 4 Finger Lakes (N.Y.) CC improved to five top-5 marks, led by a pair who rate No. 3 – John Zimmerman (steeple, 10:44.45) and Memphis Lohnes (pole vault, 3.80m/12-5½).
No. 5 Rowan-Gloucester (N.J.) CC has seven top-5 marks. Marques Hall is the top-rated individual for the Roadrunners – No. 2 in both the shot (13.49m/44-3¼) and hammer (41.59m/136-6).
Rounding out the top-10 teams in the national TFRI are No. 6 Thaddeus Stevens (Pa.), No. 7 Harper (Ill.), No. 8 St. Charles (Mo.) CC, No. 9 Howard (Md.) CC and No. 10 Monroe-Bronx (N.Y.).
Just two weeks away are the 2022 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, scheduled for May 12-14 at Hudson Valley (N.Y.) CC’s Outdoor Athletic Complex in Troy, New York.
