Not much has changed from Week 4 to Week 5.
We’ll start with Chico State leapfrogging Colorado Christian for the No. 12 spot. The Wildcats placed sixth at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational behind strong pack running and their depth to finish 25 ahead of No. 8 Cal State Stanislaus, who was running without their No. 5 runner. Chico State’s runners placed 34-35-37-50-57 with freshmen Della Molina (34th) and Iresh Molina (35th) leading the charge.
Neb.-Kearney improved one spot to No. 21 following their victory at the Platte River Rumble. The Lopers ran to the team title with 50 points, getting their runners across in 5-6-8-14-17. Northwest Missouri, who was previously receiving votes, is now ranked No. 27 for its second top-30 appearance of the season. The Bearcats finished second by 10 points at the Platte River Rumble. Caroline Cunningham was the ultimate low stick as the Bearcats went 1-3-9-21-26.
We’ll see some great racing among the nation’s top teams at the D2 Pre-Nationals in University Place, Washington and the UAH Invitational in Huntsville, Alabama. Five nationally ranked teams, headlined by No. 3 Colorado School of Mines, will face off at the former, while No. 7 Cedarville and No. 10 Lee (Tenn.) headline the latter.
Mark your calendars for Friday, December 2, as the 2022 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships will take place at Chambers Bay Golf Club in University Place, Washington!
