2022 NCAA DII Women’s Cross Country National Coaches’ Poll – Week 6
NEW ORLEANS – And just like that, the regular season is over.
Time for the postseason.
Here is the newest edition of the NCAA Division II Women’s Cross Country National Coaches’ Poll for the 2022 season, as released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Tuesday. Remember that this poll is conducted by counting votes from eight member coaches – one from each of the division’s eight regions – who also do the Regional Rankings.

The top-5 teams held steady for a fourth consecutive week: Adams State is the unanimous No. 1, followed by No. 2 Grand Valley State, No. 3 Colorado School of Mines, No. 4 UC-Colorado Springs and No. 5 Augustana (S.D.). Colorado School of Mines bolstered its position as the third-ranked team after a strong showing at the NCAA DII Pre-Nationals this past weekend. The Orediggers rolled to the team title with 37 points, placing their scoring five among the top-15.
The next six spots saw changes in every position: No. 6 Cedarville (up one spot from No. 7), No. 7 Cal State Stanislaus (up one spot from No. 8), No. 8 Dallas Baptist (up one spot from No. 9), No. 9 Western Colorado (up two spots from No. 11), No. 10 Wingate (down four spots from No. 6). The Yellow Jackets recently topped the podium at the UAH DII Festival Year Showcase, scoring 46 points from a 5-8-9-11-13 finish to beat runner-up Wingate by 59 points. The Mountaineers captured runner-up honors at the NCAA DII Pre-Nationals behind Katie Doucette’s second-place finish in the individual race.
Biola (Calif.) and Minnesota State made multiple spot improvements from Week 5 to Week 6, both setting program-bests. The Eagles jumped seven spots to No. 13 after a win over new No. 15 Chico State (down three spots from No. 12) at the NCAA DII Pre-Nationals. The Mavericks climbed two spots to No. 16 following their team title at the Bob Waxlax Invitational by five points, 28-33, over new No. 17 Winona State (down two spots from No. 15).
Three teams that weren’t ranked a week ago can find themselves in the top-30: No. 18 Charleston (W.Va.), No. 29 Cal State East Bay and No. 30 Palm Beach Atlantic. This is the first time in program history the Sailfish have been ranked in the National Coaches’ Poll.
