2022 NCAA DII Men’s Cross Country Regional Rankings – Week 2

NEW ORLEANS – After a one week hiatus, we’re back.

Here is the newest edition of the NCAA Division II Men’s Cross Country Regional Rankings for the 2022 season, as released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Tuesday afternoon.

Regional Rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing returning teams’ strength with current season results (if applicable) in determining a rank-order of squad potential. Only USTFCCCA member programs are eligible to receive a ranking. Teams with provisional status within the region may be ranked.

Regional Championships Saturday is set for Saturday, November 19.

Atlantic Region

Projected AQs: No. 1 Charleston (W.Va.), No. 2 Edinboro, No. 3 Concord

Also in the Hunt: No. 4 Davis & Elkins, No. 5 Shippensburg

Central Region

Projected AQs: No. 1 Missouri Southern, No. 2 Augustana (S.D.), No. 3 Pittsburg State

Also in the Hunt: No. 4 Neb.-Kearney, No. 5 Sioux Falls

Note: Missouri Southern leapfrogged Augustana (S.D.) for the No. 1 spot in Week 2.

East Region

Projected AQs: No. 1 Franklin Pierce, No. 2 Southern Connecticut, No. 3 Roberts Wesleyan

Also in the Hunt: No. 4 American International, No. 5 Adelphi

Note: Franklin Pierce beat Southern Connecticut in head-to-head competition. The Ravens finished third at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational, just 10 points ahead of the fourth-place Owls.

Midwest Region

Projected AQs: No. 1 Grand Valley State, No. 2 Walsh, No. 3 Michigan Tech

Also in the Hunt: No. 4 Wayne State (Mich.), No. 5 Lewis

South Region

Projected AQs: No. 1 Lee (Tenn.), No. 2 Alabama-Huntsville, No. 3 Mississippi College

Also in the Hunt: No. 4 Embry-Riddle (Fla.), No. 5 Tampa

Note: Tampa soared three spots from No. 8 to No. 5 in Week 2.

South Central Region

Projected AQs: No. 1 Adams State, No. 2 Colorado School of Mines, No. 3 Colorado Christian

Also in the Hunt: No. 4 Western Colorado, No. 5 UC-Colorado Springs

Southeast Region

Projected AQs: No. 1 Wingate, No. 2 Augusta, No. 3 Anderson (S.C.)

Also in the Hunt: No. 4 Emmanuel (Ga.), No. 5 Catawba

West Region

Projected AQs: No. 1 Chico State, No. 2 Azusa Pacific, No. 3 Cal Poly Pomona

Also in the Hunt: No. 4 Fresno Pacific, No. 5 Western Washington

Note: Azusa Pacific leapfrogged Cal Poly Pomona in Week 2. The Cougars placed second at the Cougar Challenge with 70 points, while the Broncos finished fourth with 88 points.
