Cross Country Polls & Rankings
The most recent NAIA Men’s Cross Country National Coaches’ Poll was released on Monday afternoon by the NAIA National Office.
This is the 16th week in a row that the Stars have headlined national index. They proved their strength throughout the season, but especially this past weekend at the Sooner Athletic Conference Championships, where they won by 44 points and put six runners in the top-12.
College of Idaho sits No. 2 entering the national championship meet after winning the team title at the Cascade Collegiate Championships. The Yotes fought off a tough challenge from Southern Oregon as they scored 43 points to the Raiders’ 59.
Saint Mary (Kan.) holds down the No. 3 spot. The Spires recently captured the team title at the KCAC Championships as they just missed out on a perfect score. Saint Mary went 1-2-3-4-6 for 16 points (Don’t worry, though: The Spires added runners 7-8 for good measure).
Indiana Wesleyan and Southern Oregon round out the top-5 at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively. The Wildcats climbed two spots from the previous poll thanks to a victory at the Crossroads League Championships this past weekend where they toppled former No. 4 Taylor.
