UW-La Crosse remained No. 1 for yet another week as the squad actually strengthened its hold on the top spot. The Eagles received three national-leading efforts from their athletes this past weekend: Emma Lawrence is now No. 1 in the 400H at 1:00.43; both the 4×100 and 4×400 relay teams earned top billing with 46.70 and 3:50.54 efforts, respectively.
Ithaca jumped three spots from No. 5 to No. 2 thanks to its efforts at the RIT Friday Meet. Parley Hannan might have stolen the show with her totally-solo, NCAA DIII-leading effort in the 10,000 of 34:12.50 (Hannan won by more than four minutes), but the Bombers received two top-5 marks in the pole vault from Juliann Terry and Sara Altonen, who are tied at No. 3 (3.75m/12-3½).
Loras climbed one spot from No. 4 to No. 3 between Week 4 and Week 5. The Duhawks hit a number of national runner-up marks this past weekend at the Drake Relays, including Alyssa Pfadenhauer in the 400 at 56.20, Kassie Rosenbum in the 10,000 at 34:19.16 and the 4×400 relay team at 3:50.71.
Johns Hopkins moved up one spot to No. 5, right behind UW-Eau Claire, which dropped one spot from No. 3 to No. 4. The Blue Jays saw Annie Guiterriez snag a top-5 spot in the pole vault with her 3.74m (12-3¼) clearance at the Gettysburg College Quad Meet.
Here are the rest of the top-10 teams in Week 5: No. 6 SUNY Geneseo, No. 7 John Carroll, No. 8 Wartburg, No. 9 Illinois Wesleyan and No. 10 Nebraska Wesleyan. The eighth-ranked Knights charged 11 spots since Week 4 thanks to Aubrie Fisher taking over the national lead in the steeplechase at 10:41.66, among other efforts this past weekend.
The 2021 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held May 27-29 at the Irwin Belk Track on the campus of North Carolina A&T University in Greensboro.
